SCSC Mother’s Day Event 2024
Special Children’s Service Centre (SCSC) wishes all our mothers and carers a very special Happy Mother’s Day!
This year, we organised a heartfelt Mother’s Day lunch and Flower Ceremony at the Liberty Palace Seafood Restaurant. This annual event was designed to honour and celebrate the incredible mothers and carers who work tirelessly to care for their special children. It was a day filled with warmth, joy, and appreciation, bringing together families, volunteers, and SCSC staff to show gratitude to the mothers for their unconditional love and dedication.
The atmosphere at the event was filled with excitement and celebration as parents took to the stage to perform various acts. Our families came dressed in their best and our performers sang heartfelt songs that echoed the emotions and appreciation everyone felt for the mothers and carers present. Many of the performances reflected the challenges and joys of parenthood, and the songs created a touching connection between the performers and the audience.
As part of the celebration, every mother and carer received a beautiful bouquet of flowers from SCSC, as part of our Flower Ceremony. This simple yet meaningful gesture symbolised the appreciation for all that carers do, not just on this special day but every day of the year. The flowers added to the warmth of the event, reminding everyone of the love and care that carers provide, especially those who care for children with special needs. The room was filled with smiles and happy tears as the mothers and carers accepted their flowers.
The lunch itself featured a delicious array of seafood dishes, allowing families to enjoy a meal together in a festive and relaxed setting. The food was a wonderful complement to the event, giving everyone a chance to sit together, share stories, and celebrate the special bond between mothers, carers and their children.
The Mother’s Day lunch organised by SCSC was not just an opportunity to celebrate our families but also a chance to bring the community together in support of one another. The performances, the laughter, and the shared meals all contributed to creating an environment of love and connection. This event served as a reminder that the journey of caring for special children is one that is filled with both challenges and immeasurable rewards, and that the mothers and carers who walk this path deserve recognition and appreciation for their strength and resilience.
The SCSC team wishes all our mothers and carers a very Happy Mother’s Day!
P.S. Don’t forget to attend our Mother’s Day Make up classes, run by make up artist Ms Ella.
